Hi sweet friend,
I know I don’t tell you thank you enough. Maybe that’s because I’m not sure I could ever find the words to just simply say how I feel. Did you know you are a rarity? A treasured gift from God hidden deep within the confines of this world? You know that job you go to everyday, the one you either love or hate? Yes, that job serves a much higher purpose. Oh how I wish you could be here with me. I wish you could tangibly feel the pressure of sweet little arms as they wrap around you in the heat of Africa. I wish you could hear the laughter bouncing off the walls at the Grove or smell the crazy concoction baking in the oven. I wish you were here to witness the tears as they hit the ground and that you could understand the exact place they are coming from. I wish all these things and so much more. Yet you are scattered like seeds across this beautiful nation set in motion to fill a calling that you often don’t understand. You see every moment you spend at that desk allows a missionary the moments to impact someone with Kingdom. Every deadline you meet at work is the chance for someone to come to know Christ. Your work, no matter how mundane it seems, is the work that we as a missionaries were not made to do but the work that we need to help us do our work.
I love our partnership. I love the way our relationship was handcrafted by Christ to fulfill the plans that He had desired for us. I love that you had a dream and a vision and you chased after it! Oh how hard you had to work to get to where you are today! The hours you spent studying, the ridiculous jobs you worked just to make it through college. You are a Kingdom warrior! You are a fulfillment of a calling much greater than yourself! You are the backbone to missionaries! You are a solid rock! And sometimes, I must confess, we wish we could be you. Thank you for doing the hard thing, you are our heroes and our greatest gifts.
Thank you for saying yes and for loving well. We couldn’t do this without you.
